Hiệp hội Y tế Quốc tế Hàn Quốc (KIMA) tiền thân là hội thảo luận chung cơ quan công - tư thành lập năm 2007. Với tư cách là đoàn đại biểu lĩnh vực chăm sóc sức khỏe toàn cầu trong nước, hiệp hội cho thấy tình hình phát triển dịch vụ y tế Hàn Quốc đến thế giới, việc xây dựng quốc tế hóa cơ quan y tế thành viên, đóng góp vào việc xây dựng sự phát triển dự án Medical Korea. Với chức năng chủ yếu này, không chỉ hoạt động quảng bá nhằm nâng cao nhận thức y tế nước ngoài và tính tiếp cận y tế Hàn Quốc, mà còn hỗ trợ xây dựng hệ thống đảm bảo tính an toàn, sự tin cậy, và quyền lợi của bệnh nhân nước ngoài. Hiệp hội đang đóng vai trò dẫn đầu để có thể trở thành ”thế giới hóa kĩ thuật y tế và dịch vụ y tế Hàn Quốc”. Hiện tại, có khoảng 30 cơ quan bệnh viện đa khoa, bệnh viện đại học, clinic chuyên môn ưu tú trong nước đang gia nhập hội viên và hoạt động, đồng thời hỗ trợ hoạt động như là thành viên đặc biệt của bộ Y Tế, viện phát triển công nghiêp y tế Hàn Quốc, tổng cục du lịch Hàn Quốc, viện phát triển nhân lực phúc lợi y tế Hàn quốc…
Korea International Medical Association (KIMA) is a government-private joint initiative established to promote Korea’s healthcare around the world. As an 1st official organization for medical tourism in Korea, KIMA is supported by the Korean government and serves as the “acting body” for a series of national policies regarding medical tourism. The primary function of KIMA includes promotion of Korea’s healthcare to the international communities and fostering of safe and reliable healthcare infrastructures in Korea. KIMA works in partnership with Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI), Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), Korea Human Resource Development Institute for Health & Welfare (KOHI), and Ministry of Health & Welfare (MOHW) of Korea supports its activities. Currently, over 30 hospitals and clinics are actively involved as members of KIMA.
